He found fame for killing a cat in the opening episode of the most recent series of RTE’s Love/Hate, but Barry Keoghan is set to see his star rise further in the coming months. The Dublin actor has been cast in Rebecca Daly’s new film, “MAMMAL” and will star opposite Rachel Griffiths of Six Foot Under fame.

The 21-year-old tweeted his delight last night:-

“Finally announce I’ve been cast in leading role with the brilliant Rachel Griffiths in a film called ‘MAMMAL’ directed by Rebecca Daly.”

As Love/Hate’s Wayne, Keoghan showed how effective he is at portraying a menacing on-screen presence. No doubt those talents were improved in his work on the crime drama Trespass Against Us which also starred Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson. His fans will be looking forward to seeing him in ‘MAMMAL’, set in the British countryside and featuring a family of Irish travelers.
