Low turnout reported to The Liberal: Peter Casey needs his supporters to go out and vote as a low turnout favours Higgins

As Casey campaign urges his supporters to go out in the afternoon and evening to vote for their new President.

The Liberal has been told by a number of polling stations that there has been a low turnout up to lunchtime this afternoon.

Polling stations in Louth, Meath and two in Dublin told us that there has been quite a low turnout up until 1:30pm this afternoon.

A low turnout favours the incumbent, obviously in this case Higgins, whereas Peter Casey needs his supporters to get the vote out big this afternoon and this evening.

A Peter Casey campaigner supported told us:
“If you want Peter Casey to become President you have got to get out and vote this afternoon or this evening. We need the numbers. Do not rely on others to vote, we need every single vote to beat Higgins as it’s going to be very tight. Get out and vote Peter Casey number 1”.
