Luas passengers face disruption from today due to ‘work-to-rule’ action by drivers

luas

Commuters using Luas will face chaos and disruption at peak times today, as drivers begin a ‘work-to-rule’ action.

Up to 90,000 passengers are expected to be affected, and retailers face losses of €1m day while the row continues.

Luas staff are seeking pay rises of between 8pc and 54pc, but such demands have been rejected by the Luas operator, Transdev.

The work-to-rule actions means that staff will refuse to do any work other than their designated rosters and duties, and will also stick strictly to their start and finishing times. No overtime will be done, and drivers will not work on a different depot.
