A refugee from Senegal has won a gigantic €400,000 in Spain’s annual Christmas Lotto.
The 35-year-old man is named Ngagne and won the bumper windfall in Spain’s famous ‘El Gordo’ (Fat One) game.
His new home of Roquetas de Mar won the draw, so every resident who had a ticket with the right number shared the monster €630m jackpot.
Ngagne arrived in Spain on a wooden boat with his wife in 2007. He has worked for the last eight years as a vegetable picker but he lost his job just days before buying the ticket that won him a fortune.
Allegedly Ngagne and his wife only had €5 to their name.
In total, 1,600 spilt the jackpot, getting just under €400,000 each.
