“Major disappointment” – Rumbles of internal rows in Sinn Fein over dismal election performance

It appears as though Sinn Fein may well have a new leader in no time at all, if rumours are to be believed.

Mary Lou McDonald led her party into one direction – a direction of losing many seats.

Party members are now “concerned” and “majorly disappointed” with Sinn Fein losing close to 6% nationally.

Sinn Fein got hammered in Dublin’s north inner city, an area that McDonald herself canvassed for years.

It looks likely that they’ll be one of the big losers this weekend with the Green Party picking up the majority of their seats.

It’s not yet known but it looks more likely after this election that a General Election will happen sometime in the Spring of 2020 and that will tell the real story of the state of play for all parties and their leaders.
