Two major US retailers, Walmart and Dick’s Sporting Goods, have raised the minimum legal age for purchasing guns at their stores from 18 to 21.
The move comes in the wake of the Florida massacre, where high school student Nikolas Cruz gunned down 17 people.
It later emerged that Cruz had legally purchased a gun at Dick’s last November, though not the one used for the shooting.
The incident at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, sparked renewed calls for stricter gun control in the US.
