It’s the talk of the political nation at the moment – an Irish Brexit, or IREXIT as it’s politely referred to.
A large group of people said to be between 300 and 500 went to the Bonnington Hotel in Dublin yesterday afternoon for the launch of Ireland’s newest political party, Irexit Freedom party.
Its core message of one of an anti-eu or eu-skeptic much like that of Brexit campaigners in the UK.
A speech from Ray Kinsella resonated with the people in the room. He commented on wanting Ireland’s sovereignty back, its freedom back, its governing powers back.
The 4 hour event left an air of positivity towards an Irish referendum on EU membership. The launch initially saw a conference and speeches referencing “Ireland’s 1 billion euro annual contribution to the EU” followed by its first AGM.
