So far this year, gardai have issued over 3,000 fixed charge notices for cars that have been parked on footpaths, which make it impossible for disabled people to get past on a footpath.
Wheelchair users, people with a visual impairment are finding it extremely difficult to navigate footpaths and have launched a ‘Make Way Day’ campaign in an effort to make drivers aware of the problems they face should a car be left in their way on footpaths.
