Man (20s) arrested after car hits multiple Garda vehicles, with four officers injured

After a car struck two Garda cars during an incident in County Carlow that resulted in injuries to four officers, a man has been taken into custody, reports The Mirror.

A man in his 20s was detained and charged, according to the Gardai.

According to a spokesman, at around nine o’clock on Saturday night, gardai tried to pull over a car on Carlow’s O’Brien Road.

“The vehicle failed to stop and was driven dangerously, striking several Garda vehicles before being successfully intercepted a short time later,” they said, reports The Mirror.

“The driver, a male in his 20s, was arrested under the Road Traffic Acts and brought to a garda station in Co Carlow. The other occupants of the car were uninjured. Following the incident, four gardai were taken to St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, for medical assessment, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries,” they added, reports The Mirror.
