Man (40s) arrested after two gardai hospitalised after garda car rammed in suspected targeted attack

Dublin city centre witnessed a deliberate attack today as a patrol car was rammed by a black Renault car on Brunswick Street North, reports Independent.

The incident resulted in two injured gardaí who are currently receiving treatment for their injuries.

The collision occurred outside the entrance of the Coroner’s Court building.

One source said: “At this stage indications are that this was not a random incident and that the garda patrol car was deliberately driven into, potentially putting both members in serious harm. Gardaí had not interacted with this vehicle prior to being rammed,” reports Independent.

“Thankfully both members have not suffered any serious injuries but this targeted incident shows again the dangers gardaí face every day”, the source added, reports Independent.
