
A man in his 40s has lost his life, and another man in his 30s has sustained injuries following a two-vehicle crash in Co Kerry, reports Breaking News.
The incident took place on the N22 close to Dromadeesirt, Co Kerry, on Saturday at approximately 6:40pm.
One of the drivers, a man in his 40s, was declared dead at the scene, reports Breaking News,
His body has since been transported to the local mortuary, where a post-mortem will be conducted at a later time, reports Breaking News.
The second driver, a man in his 30s, was taken to University Hospital Kerry with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.
No further injuries have been reported, reports Breaking News.
The road remained shut on Sunday morning as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examined the area, and local diversions are in effect at both Scart Cross and Lawlors Cross along the N22.
Gardaí are urging anyone who might have witnessed the crash to get in touch with them, reports Breaking News.
They are specifically requesting footage from road users who may have camera recordings, including dash-cam videos, and were driving along the N22 near Dromadeesirt between 6:20pm and 6:50pm.
