A man who had sex with a stranger on the footpath in broad daylight was sentenced to 11 weeks in prison. 45-year-old Jonathon Pisani romped with 40-year-old Kate Jackson in Stalybridge, Greater Manchester in front of passers-by after starting chatting just before 4pm on Aug 10th this year as they were waiting to get a train.
A bystander alerted police that Jackson was possibly being raped by Pisani, but the council’s CCTV operators caught them kissing passionately outside a nearby nightclub. Manchester Magistrates’ Court heard the camera and then panned back to show the couple lying on the footpath hugging before Jackson pulled Pisani on top of her.
Both defendants pleaded guilty to offending public decency. Jackson was fined £50 and received a 12 month community order. But the district judge handling his case told Pisani, who lives with his daughter in Oldham, that “only immediate custody” is an appropriate punishment. He was jailed for 11 weeks and had to pay £213 in costs and a surcharge.
According to the Metro, Prosecutor Gareth Hughes said: ‘Police received a call a 999 call from a member of the public and they believed that there was a female being raped on the floor in the road or on the pavement at a junction on Market Street in Stalybridge. ‘It was 15.43pm so in broad daylight in Stalybridge town centre. The council CCTV operators have then seen via the cameras Mr Pisani and Ms Jackson kissing outside Bar Liquid in Market Street.
‘The camera moves on briefly and comes back and the couple are lay on the pavement cuddling and then Ms Jackson pulls Pisani on top of her and they start having sex on the pavement. ‘Members of the public can be seen in the vicinity walking past whilst this is going on and it is seen by numerous people at what was a fairly busy time of the day. ‘Police officers attended and arrested the pair. They were interviewed and no comment was made in interview from both parties. Both accept it and have pleaded guilty.’
