Gardaí in Co Kildare have sadly confirmed that a man aged in his 40s has died following a workplace accident at a quarry this morning.
It is understood the man was seriously injured in the accident which occurred at a quarry in Kilmeague, Co Kildare, at around 11:30am this morning.
Gardaí say the man’s body has since been transferred to Naas General Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.
They also say the Health and Safety Authority have been informed of the incident and they have begun an investigation.
