Man aged in his 20s is released without charge as Gardai launch a murder investigation following the discovery of a 66 year old man’s body in Cork




Gardai in Cork have confirmed that a 22 year old man has been released without charge after he was questioned in relation to the discovery of man’s body at a house in Douglas, Cork on Monday.

The news comes as Gardai have launched a murder investigation after the body of 66 year old man Joe O’Callaghan was found at his home at approximatley 8am on Monday morning.

Gardai say the man who volunteered himself for questioning at Togher Garda Station has been released without charge, they also say a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

It is believed Gardai have begun an investigation after Mr O’Callaghan was found with injuries that are consistent with foul play.
