A man has appeared in court charged in connection with the hijacking of a taxi in Dublin early over the weekend.
It is believed that a taxi driver was threatened and assaulted at knife point before being forced out of his car at approximately 1.30am on Saturday morning.
The incident is understood to have happened in a car park at a shopping centre in Palmerstown.
The 58 year old Taxi driver was not seriously injured in the incident. The 31-year-old man was charged and released and is due to appear in court again later today.
