A man has been arrested in the Jobstown area of county Dublin this morning after several Gardai units were involved in a high speed chase near the M50.
The vehicle, a Hyundai Santa-Fe, had been stolen from a house in Tallaght between 5.30 and 6.00 this morning.
Gardai spotted the vehicle racing away from the area but it failed to stop when followed and a chase ensued.
Eight Gardai vehicles as well as a Garda helicopter joined in the pursuit by the time the car had reached the Spawell roundabout.
The driver spun around at the roundabout before racing down the by-pass back towards Tallaght.
The vehicle was eventually apprehended in Jobstown and a man was arrested at the scene.
The man is now being questioned in Tallaght Garda Station.
No one was harmed during the incident.
