Authorities in France say a man has been arrested after seven people were stabbed in a knife attack in Paris.
It is understood two British tourists were stabbed in the incident which occurred in the Quai de la Loire district at approximately 11pm local time on Sunday.
Police investigating the case say a man has been arrested in connection with the incident and he is currently being questioned by officers.
They say all seven people have been taken to hospital with four people sustaining severe injuries.
According to French state media the man was seen wielding a either a blade or a iron bar when he carried out the attack.
Although police have yet to determine the motive for the attack, a well placed source has apparently told Reuters that they believe the incident is not linked to terrorism.
