Gardaí in Co Wicklow have confirmed that a man aged in his 40s has been arrested and released without charge following a hit and run incident in Kilcoole over the weekend.
The man’s arrest comes after a 17 year old girl was seriously injured when she was struck by a car on Main Street in the town at approximately 3:50am on Saturday morning.
Although the man has since been released without charge, Gardai say they have prepared a file for the Director of public prosecutions.
The 17 year old who was quickly rushed to Beaumont Hospital Dublin, where she still remains in critical.
