Gardaí have confirmed that a man aged in his 20s has been arrested following an armed robbery in Cork City over the weekend.
It is understood the man was arrested after cash was robbed from a till at a service station on the Blackrock Road at approximately 5.30pm on Sunday evening.
Gardaí say a man armed with a machete threatened staff before fleeing the scene with the contents of the till.
However during a follow up investigation Gardai arrested a 23-year-old man and he was taken to Bridewell Garda Station for questioning.
