Gardai have arrested a 46-year-old man following a tense armed stand off in Co Kerry.
The incident happened in Muckross, Killarney. It began at around 10pm last night when Gardai were called to a house there. Upon arrival, a man produced a firearm and threatened them, and another man. The Regional Response Unit from Limerick as well as member of the District Detective Unit and a crisis negotiator were alerted and rushed to the scene.
The stand-off ended at around 3am. No shots were fired during the entire period.
A 46-year-old Irish man was arrested, and two firearms were recovered.
The man is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Killarney Garda Station.
