A man in his 40s has been arrested in Tralee in connection with a robbery in a petrol station.
At around 8.20pm yesterday, a man armed with a hatchet entered the petrol station at Rathass.
It is alleged that the man threatened staff, stole cash from the tills and made off on foot across Rathass Graveyard.
A man was later arrested by Gardai close to Fountain Court in Tralee . Gardai recovered money, a hatchet and clothing after seaching the area.
A man in his 40s is currently detained at Tralee Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
