Gardaí have confirmed that a man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after he was caught overtaking an unmarked Garda car at high speed on the N4.
According to a post on the Garda Traffic Twitter page, Gardai say they arrested the man on Friday night after he flashed his lights at the Garda car encouraging them to get out of his way.
However despite overtaking the Garda car at 130km/h on a 80km/h road, the man was quickly arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
The arrest comes as Gardai officers are out in force this Bank Holiday weekend to clamp down on drink driving and speeding.
This lad was in a bit of a hurry!
He flashed lights at an UNMARKED Garda car on the N4 last night to move. He then overtook Garda car at 130km/h in 80km/h .
