A man scaled a building in London to attack a statue that was sculpted by a man who was said to have sexually abused his two daughters.

According to SKY News, the man attacked a sculpture created by Eric Gill which was attached to BBC’s Broadcasting House in central London.  He used a hammer to bash the statue for more than 4 hours.

Police were called and took the man down with assistance from the fire brigade.  He was then checked for injuries and was taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

The man insisted that the statue should have been removed long ago.  A petition had been collected to have it removed.
