
An inquiry is underway following a man’s injuries sustained on Sunday morning in north Dublin during an assault by an XL Bully dog, reports RTE.
Around eleven in the morning, it happened on Kilmore’s Ballyshannon Road.
The dog was subdued, according to a garda spokeswoman, and then given to a dog warden.
Since then, the XL Bully has been demolished.
“An Garda SÃochána called the Animal Welfare and Control Services Unit to assist with dog attack in the Kilmore Area on Sunday,” revealed Dublin City Council, reports RTE.

A spokeswoman stated that “the dog in question, an XL Bully, was removed by the Wardens Service under the Control of Dogs 1986 Act … and humanely put down”, reports RTE.
The incident is still being investigated, according to the GardaÃ.
Regulations prohibiting the breed will be implemented starting next month.
It will be unlawful to breed, sell, rehome, or import XL Bully dogs as of October 1, reports RTE.
The second phase is scheduled to commence on February 1st, 2025.
Owning an XL Bully dog will be prohibited as a result, unless the owner possesses a Certificate of Exemption.
Only those who can demonstrate that their dog is spayed, microchipped, and in possession of a permit will be granted the certificates, reports RTE.
In response to demands for stricter dog control regulations following several high-profile assaults, the government made the announcement earlier this year.
Nicole Morey, 23, passed away in June as a result of an XL bully dog assault at her Co Limerick house, reports RTE.
