Man driving with his girlfriend in “steamed up” car gets 2-year driving ban after crashing into another car

According to the Irish Mirror, 23-year-old Christopher Dalton received the ban after an incident that took place in June 2020.

Dalton had originally been parked but drove off and struck another vehicle.  He didn’t stop but a third party who saw the incident reported it to the Gardai.  Dalton admitted he had been involved when the Gardai spoke to him.

In Court, Dalton’s solicitor said that his client was “in the company of a female” and that their car windows were steamed up.

The judge replied: “We won’t say anything more.  He wasn’t blaming the condensation on the car?”

Dalton’s solicitor said that his client was very sorry for grazing off another car and that he had since travelled abroad to work as a waiter.

As well as the two-year driving ban, Dalton was fined €150 plus €100 for driving without a licence and another €100 for leaving the scene of an accident.
