A man is due to appear in court this morning following an alleged assault on a Garda officer in Co Cavan.
According to The Irish Mirror newspaper, the man aged in his 30s is expected to appear in Trim District Court charged with the assault of a Garda officer on Monday the 5th August.
The Irish Mirror say the Garda officer suffered facial injuries in the incident which occurred at Drumnaveil in Cootehill at 12.30pm.
