Police in Thailand have confirmed that a 22 year old Russian man has died after he fell whilst trying to take a selfie at a waterfall.
According to local media reports, the man who had been staying in the country since the Covid-19 outbreak began fell whilst trying to take a selfie at Ngao Waterfall National Park in Ranong.
Police investigating the say the man who was hiking with six friends at the time of the incident is believed to have slipped on a rock which ultimately led to the horrific fall.
It is reported that the hikers left a hiking trail to go take photos at the waterfall despite a number of warning signs placed in the area.
Police investigating the incident say it took over two hours to recover the man’s body due to the remote location.
They added that his remains will be taken to Uzbekistan where an autopsy will take place.
