A man in his 70s is in a critical condition in hospital after a serious assault in Dublin overnight.
The incident, which happened at around 2am this morning in the Courtney Place of Ballybough, left the man with critical head and spinal injuries.
The victim was taken to the Mater Hospital for urgent treatment.
