A man is in a critical condition in hospital this morning, following an assault in Monaghan on Saturday night.
The victim, a 35-year-old man, was found on the street with severe head injuries. He was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
