
A man has been taken into custody following a dramatic act of criminal damage at Dublin Airport on St Patrick’s Day, during which a gate was severely vandalized, reports The Mirror.
Airport Police responded swiftly to gate 107 on Monday morning after a topless man, wearing a face covering, launched into a violent outburst, leaving shocked travellers looking on in fear.
Footage circulating on social media captures the man behaving erratically outside the gate, kicking the desk and wall, reports The Mirror.
He is also seen hurling an object at another man standing nearby, who quickly grabs his luggage and walks away.
The incident continues in additional footage, showing the man tossing objects across the terminal. He can be seen throwing chairs and tables from a café next to the gate and forcefully kicking over the Ryanair baggage weight checker, reports The Mirror.
Gardaà have confirmed that a man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the criminal damage incident at Dublin Airport on Monday.
A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: “Gardaà arrested a man in connection with incidents of criminal damage in Terminal 1, Dublin Airport, this morning, Monday, 17 March 2025. The man, aged in his 20s, has been charged and is due to appear before Court 2 of the Criminal Courts of Justice Dublin, this morning,” reports The Mirror.
