Police in Newry, Co Down, have sadly confirmed that a man has been killed following a house fire on Friday night.
It is understood that the man was sadly killed following the fire at a house in Park View, Cloughoge, at approximately 11:40pm.
Police say a number of units from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the blaze.
It is believed that two men were rescued from the fire but sadly one of the men was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the other man was taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition.
They added that an investigation is currently underway in order to determine the cause of the fire.
