A 30 year old man has been jailed for six years after he was found guilty of filming and distributing images of children.
According to RTE News, the man was sentenced at Circuit Criminal Court in Cork this afternoon.
It is understood the man will serve at least three years behind bars and with a further three years suspended.
RTE News reports that the man’s arrest came following an investigation by Gardai who were informed by the FBI that the images had been uploaded to the dark web.
It is believed that the man filmed a number of foreign students who were staying at his home.
He is alleged to have installed hidden cameras at his home and is alleged to have also filmed two children whilst they were using bathrooms in shopping centres located in Cork.
