A Tipperary man has been sentenced to life prison after being found guilty of the murder of Waterford pensioner Paddy Lyons.
According to RTÉ News, Ross Outram was found guilty of the murder of Mr Lyons, 90, which occurred between 23rd and 26th February 2017.
Mr Lyons was tragically found dead in his arm chair at his home in Lismore in Co Waterford.
Following a post-mortem examination it was determined that Mr Lyons cause of death was blunt force trauma to the body after he sustained multiple blows to the head, ribs and hips.
RTÉ News say although Mr Outram, 28, claimed self defence, he was found guilty of murder by a jury of 8 men and 4 women.
