A man has sustained a gunshot injury to his leg after a firearm registered to Gardai was fired in Co. Longford.
It is understood that the incident happened in Edgeworthstown, Co Longford, at around 5pm this afternoon. An Alsatian dog is believed to have been killed during the same incident.
The man’s wounds are not believed to be life-threatening.
