A Lithuanian man, who was not identified for patient confidentiality reasons, was admitted to a hospital in Klaipeda with severe abdominal pain.
During a routine examination and x-ray of his stomach, doctors found more than 1kg of nails and screws. He told doctors that he started swallowing metal objects after giving up alcohol.
It took doctors three hours to remove all foreign bodies during an intensive operation to remove all the metal, reports the Daily Mail.
‘We’ve never seen anything like it,’ Algirdas Slepavicius, head surgeon at Klaipeda Hospital told local media.
