A man who shot a pregnant woman and a man in front of two children has been charged with intent to danger life.
Thomas McCarthy, originally from Castleview Estate, Newcastle West, Co Limerick, and with previous addresses in England, has appeared in Kilmallock District Court charged with possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life.
The court heard Mr McCarthy was currently unemployed, he was also charged with two counts of assault causing harm to both victims. The court has ordered that the victims identities should not be published. Judge Alan Mitchell refused bail and remanded Mr McCarthy in custody to appear in court again next week.
