Man who worked as a banker and moonlighted in a Dublin pub pulling pints wins €25,000

A banking professional who moonlighted “pulling pints” in a Dublin pub for almost 30 years has been paid €25,000 for the “heartless” and “completely unlawful” way he was sacked by the family he first came to work for in the 1980s, reports RTE.

The worker, Alan Eacock, said despite starting a career in banking in 1994 he continued to work in Aughrim Street, Kavanagh, Dublin 7 as he tried to provide for his mother after his father died.

He said his colleagues at the bank knew nothing about his second job.

“I was the eldest boy of two – that’s why I accepted the position and worked as hard as I did to ensure my mam had stability in later life,” he said, reports RTE.
