Man with Crohn’s Disease sues company for unfair dismissal after being fired for taking too many toilet breaks

A former Amazon employee has filed a lawsuit against the company after he was fired for taking too many toilet breaks.

According to FOX News the man who was working at the company’s Kentucky call centre was fired after he was accused of committing time theft, citing excessive toilet breaks as the main reason.

However the man has since claimed that he was unfairly dismissed as he only used bathroom breaks due to his ongoing medical condition.

It is understood the man who has Crohn’s disease is suing the company for $3m (€2.6m) after he claimed the company unfairly dismissed him in December 2017.

The man who has filed court papers claims that the company violated the Americans with Disabilities Act with “unyielding and inhuman policies regarding bathroom access”.

The former call centre employee claims that he was repeatedly reprimanded despite his ongoing condition.

Meanwhile Amazon say that they are unwilling to discuss ongoing legal cases
