Management at the Mater Private say sex offender was given Garda clearence to work at the hospital

The Mater Private Hospital has released a statement last night regarding a former staff member who has been recently convicted of sexual assault.

The hospital made a statement regarding the employment of
31 year old Folajimmy Awode of Ballinteer House, Tyrellstown at the hospital, management at the hospital have said Mr Awode had been given Garda clearence to allow him to work at the hospital. Mr Awode was subsequently hired by the hospital as care assistant went sexually assault a female patient while she slept in her hospital bed, in November 2013. Mr Awode has since been found guilty and has been convicted of the horrific assault.

The hospital made a statement.late last night saying: “The Mater Private have since terminated the care assistant’s employment and they deeply regret the hurt and upset caused by the incident.”
