Management at University Hospital Limerick have confirmed that a number visiting restrictions have been put in place following a recent measles outbreak in Limerick City.
It is understood the restrictions have been put in place after four cases of the illness were reported in the past month.
In a brief statement University Hospital Limerick said the restrictions that were implemented during the recent flu epidemic, will remain in place as a precautionary measure until the current measles outbreak is handled.
The visiting restrictions come less than a week after the HSE sent an Outbreak Control Unit to the region.
