Dublin Fire Brigade were called earlier today to attend an incident at the junction of Merrion and Baggot Street.
A manhole cover suddenly blew upwards and flew a feet into the air, just missing some passers by. Emergency services were quickly at the scene, trying to ascertain the cause of the blast.
No injuries were reported.
