Man’s best friend: Hero stray dog keeps cyclist warm after bike crash leaves him unable to move

A stray dog has been hailed a hero after he amazingly managed to keep a man alive by keeping him warm whilst he was unable to move.

In truly remarkable incident, the dog came to 40 year old Marion Ion’s aid after he was left unable to walk following a biking accident in Mount Semenic, in Romania on Monday.

According to reports in Romania the abandoned dog who has since been hailed a hero, came to Marion’s aid whilst he was left lying on the ground.

Speaking about the incident, Marion said the dog who he named ‘squares’ came to his aid when he responded to his pleas.

Marion who is now recovering in hospital, told reporters that the dog refused to leave his side and even lay on top him to keep him warm whilst rescue workers were searching for him.

Following a detailed search Marion was eventually found after a emergency call was issued.

However the courageous dog who has since been adopted by a local politician, refused to leave Marion’s side as he climbed into the ambulance before being removed by paramedics.

According to a number of eyewitnesses the caring dog amazingly ran after the ambulance whilst it was driving way.

Following the incident Marion, told reporters that he will be forever grateful to ‘squares’ as he never left his side in his time of need.

The hiker added the dog deserved a lot more than being abandoned in the woods with no one to care for him.

‘Squares’ who has since been renamed Max has been adopted by the vice-president of Caras-Severin county council Ionut Mihai Popovici.
