Many Pubs are closing of their volition with some owners calling for the official closure of licenced premises

Many people on social media have been calling for pubs, restuarants and other non essential shops to close in an effort to fight the coronavirus outbreak.

Now, it appears that many pub owners and managers agree.

A number of pubs in Dublin, Cork and Galway have already closed due to the social-distancing restrictions being unrealistic to their everyday business workings.

Managers are saying that it’s just not feasible to try and keep punters at least one metre away from each other in a busy pub, even though they accept that the measures are justified (as seen in the tweet below).

The below viral has gone viral showing a busy Dublin pub in Temple Bar with a massive crowd, jumping, cheering, drinking and singing – practically all on top of each other.
