Mark Zuckerberg agrees to testify at US Congress in the wake of controversy involving Cambridge Analytica

Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg has given in to pressure from media and lawmakers and agreed to testify in front of a US Congress panel to answer questions about Facebook’s handling of private user data.

Facebook has been accused of improper behavior after it became known that Cambridge Analytica, a data company with links to Donald Trump’s campaign, had accessed data from about 50 million Facebook users without their knowledge or permission.

Zuckerberg has today turned down a request from British authorities to personally answer questions about Facebook’s privacy and data considerations.
