Marriage proposal literally crashes and burns as “Will you marry me” sky writing plane tragically crashes – Pilot survives but passenger dies on impact

A marriage proposal is supposed to be a momentous and happy occasion, however, in Montreal things turned fatal for this proposal.

A small plane, hired to sky write a marriage proposal in Montreal crashed on an island near Old Montreal on Saturday.

Canada’s Transportation Safety Board said the aircraft, a Cessna 172, was pulling a banner that read ‘Will you marry me’ when it went down and burst into flames on Saturday night.

Two people were in the plane when it went down.
The pilot, Gian Pierro Ciambella, is the owner of Aerogram, an aerial adverting agency. He luckily survived the crash and is currently recovering in hospital.

Unfortunately, a passenger in the plane died in the crash. The passenger has not yet been identified and it has not been established if the passenger was linked to the marriage proposal.
