Martin: Health Minister must do the right thing and apologise to the Dail over the National Children’s Hospital’s overspend

The leader of Fianna Fáil Mícheál Martin has called on the Minister for Health Simon Harris to apologise to the Dáil over his handling of information in regards to the National Children’s Hospital.

In an interview with Kfm, Mr Martin also said that the Minister for Health must correct the Dáil about the hospital over runs.

Mr Martin’s comments come after Minister Harris revealed on Thursday that he had received a memo from the construction company informing him about €191m.

The fiasco which has already led to a number of opposition TD’s to call for the Health Minister to be removed from his position, has led to Mr Martin to call on Minister Harris to do the right thing.

Harris has come under increased pressure after Sinn Féin revealed that they are considering submitting a motion of no confidence in the Health Minister.
