Martin: Ireland is now on a knife edge – it’s time to get back to basics

It’s beginning to feel as though the government is sending Ireland backwards in its fight against covid.

The Taoiseach Micheal Martin said that there is now real concern in the government, NPHET and Niac in relation to Ireland’s planned reopening on October 22nd.

Practically the entire hospitality sector has been left on tender hooks in relation to just what will and will not be allowed happen from Friday week.

It’s looking increasing likely that not much will change now though as Martin said that the number of daily covid cases have taken a decisively turn for the negative. NPHET has stated that Ireland is now on a knife edge in relation to the pandemic.

All this comes as 90% of the country is now fully vaccinated.
