Martin says the Carbon Tax will be offset for people – but doesn’t explain how that will happen

The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has declared that the Carbon Tax is definitely going ahead but said that the public won’t see any difference because it’ll be offset, presumably by the exchequer.

However, it’s not yet know for sure what way the offset will actually happen or for how long.

In what can only be described as truly despicable, the Green Party’s Carbon Tax is going ahead in May, according to leaked reports.

Eamon Ryan appears to be completely oblivious to what actually is really going on in Irish people’s lives and just how they’re doing their best to keep end’s meet.

Energy prices, fuel prices and the price at the pumps have gone through the roof since the start of the year.

However, the carbon tax is due to go up by €7.50 per tonne of carbon dioxide.

The tax will rise from €26 to €33.50.

The Government published its Climate Action Bill recently, with the goal of de-carbonising the economy by 2050.

What do you think? Should the government go ahead with such a ludicrous tax?
