Back in July 2020, Badreddin Abadlla Adam was shot dead by Glasgow police after six people, including an officer, were wounded during an incident at the Park Inn Hotel on West George Street. The hotel was housing asylum seekers.

This vicious assault has led Glasgow City Council to “temporarily suspend accepting new asylum seekers and the BBC have reported the ban could last for years.

There are more than 200 asylum seekers living in hotel accommodation across Glasgow due to “insufficient housing”.
