A massive fire has broken out at a Dubai skyscraper hotel. The Address Hotel is located near the world’s tallest tower, Burj Khalifa where people were congregating in large numbers to watch New Year’s Eve celebrations. Witnesses have said that they saw huge flames were seen billowing from the hotel.
The Dubai-based Al-Arabiya news channel showed the fire engulfing dozens of stories of the building. The Dubai government media office tweeted on the incident.

Dubai authorities said earlier that they had deployed thousands of security personnel to ensure visitors and residents could enjoy the New Year’s festivities safely. A fireworks display that promised to be spectacular was set to happen at midnight from the Burj Khalifa before spreading to various locations across the city.
